How do I become a member of the Legal Opinion Leaders panel?

Just click on Join the Panel and follow the instructions. You need to be a reader of one of ALM’s publications, such as The American Lawyer or the New York Law Journal, or use Law.com or one of its sites.

How do I benefit from becoming a member of the Legal Opinion Leaders?

Do I have to participate every time I am invited to take a survey?

We encourage you to take a survey whenever you receive an invitation. However, we are aware of legal professionals’ busy schedules and understand that will not always be possible. To remain an active member of the panel, you must complete at least one survey per year.

How often are surveys sent out?

Surveys will be sent out three or four times a year for you to complete. Completing at least one survey per year qualifies you as an active Legal Opinion Leader.

After I receive an email invitation to take a survey, how long do I have to complete it?

Surveys are usually available online for a week to 10 days. We send reminders to those who have not responded to a survey and that will be your indication that the survey will be closing soon.

How is the information from surveys used?

The Legal Opinion Leaders survey results are used for market research purposes only. Your responses will be combined with those of other panelists to form a composite picture of our readers’ attitudes and preferences. Your comments are used to inform and shape the development of future products and services. Protecting your privacy is of utmost importance; see our Privacy Policy for more details.

Does anyone have access to my personal information?

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Your personal information is combined with that of others to form a composite profile of those in the panel or those taking a particular survey. No one outside the Legal Opinion Leaders team has access to your information.

How long do surveys take to complete?

On average, a typical survey takes anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes. There will be on occasion when a survey might take up to 15 minutes.

How do I change my e-mail address or update my profile?

You can access your member profile by clicking and filling in the Member Login. You may then update your email, password, or change other member information.

I lost my password. Is there a way to retrieve it?

If you can’t remember you password, click on Member Login. This will take you to the login screen where you can click on “Forgot your password?” link. Your password will be sent to your e-mail.

How do I de-activate my account?

You may de-activate your account by logging into Member Login and changing your subscription option. You may also activate you account if you change your mind later.
